Welcome to another mid-season review. Last week, we looked at the Top 3 Surprising teams, now let's have a look at the top 3 disappointing teams. There are some real stinkers in here.

3) Montreal Canadiens (GP 49 W 20 L 23 OL 6 Pts 46)

- Some of you might expect them to be higher on this list, but seriously going into this season, not many people saw the Canadiens as a playoff team. (including me) Still, not many people expected things to be this bad. The loss of Radulov was the big kick to the groin here. Then the Habs let Andrei Markov go, trade their stud prospect Mikhail Sergechev to Tampa Bay. for a player in Jonathan Drouin who is talented, but is far from being mature. Add the "chronic sleeping disorder" that Carey Price has, and you have a team that is in tough to even make the playoffs. Something smells bad in Montreal, and it is not in the sewers!

2) Edmonton Oilers (GP 49 W 22 L 24 OL 3 Pts 47)

-What the heck happened here???? After years of misery, the Oilers finally turned things around last year with a 103 point season. They freed up money by trading Jordan Eberle to the Islanders for Ryan Strome. Strome was supposed to fill the void of Eberle, but he has been a total disaster. In 49 games he has 7 goals and 19 points. A far cry from the player the Oilers hoped he would be. Add the fact that Cam Talbot has been average in net, as well as McDavid not getting much support in scoring, and you have an Oiler team which is once again looking to be in the cellar. (A place they are all to familar with)

1) Ottawa Senators (GP 47 W 13 L 23 OL 9 Pts 39)

-It's a Canadian sweep! The Senators surprised the league last year by reaching the Eastern Final. This year, they are surprising the league again, but for being a horrible team. Goaltending is mediocre, defense is pitiful, and Erik Karlsson is having an "off" season by his standards. The Senators did look like geniuses early this season, when they were able to pick up Matt Duchene. However, that trade seemed to sent them on a downward spiral. Duchene is struggling, and although he has started to look better, he is not producing the way the team expected him to. All in all it has been a collapse of epic proportions for the team. However there is one bright spot! The chance to have the #1 overall pick in the 2018 NHL draft.
