It is that time again for the Weekly Warrior. This week's recipient is Mark Scheifele of the Winnipeg Jets.

It's hard to believe that Scheifele is already in his 6th season. Ok, in reality it is only his 4th full season with the Jets. (He only played a total of 11 games during his first two seasons)However, at 23 years old, he already have a lot of experience under his belt. That experience seems to be paying off for him this year. Just look at his numbers so far:

GP 13

G 7

A 7

Pts 14

+/- = 5

ATOI: 21:55

TK (Take Aways) = 10

Corsi = 33 (ndividual Shots directed at the net including shots that missed the net and shots that were blocked)

Those are impressive numbers! Especially his ATOI numbers. (highest among Jets forwards) Of course, he is playing on top line, so that does explain the impressive point production. However, it just shows you the confidence that management has in him. He is finally growing in to the high expectations that were bestowed upon him. We did start to see signs of this last year. A year were Scheifele scored 61 points and netted 29 goals. He should easily surpass those numbers this year, given his current trend. More so know that he is playing on a line with Blake Wheeler and Nikolaj Ehlers. Actually that is a pretty impressive 1st line right there. One of best in the NHL, at least in my mind.

Mark Scheifele has the distinction of being the first ever player drafted by the new Winnipeg Jet. So he will always have that tie in with the team. What really impresses me about Scheifele is he has the determination, and passion for the game. Yet, he does it in a calm and cool manner. Kind of like Jonathan Toews. I am a big fan of this kid from Kitchener, ONT. Ohh,, speaking of Kitchener, there is a great hockey card shop there. One of the best in my opinon. Great staff, and great service. They even have a website: Opps, getting off topic again.

Anways, in my opinion, Scheifele is the pillar of the Jets franchise. He is the leader, the one that will drive this team for years to come. So Jet's fans, sit back and enjoy the ride.
