It's time again for the "Weekly Warrior". This weeks warrior is Erik Karlsson from the Ottawa Senators.

Let's have a look at his statistics for his season:

GP=68

G =13

A =49

Pts =62

GWG =4

Plus/Minus = 9

ATOI: 26:40

-Karlsson started the season off slowly, but has been smoking hot in his last 10 games with 3 goals and 11 assists. He is a fundamental part of the Senators success, and is very deserving of his role as Captain of the team. As usual, his points totals are up their with the best in the league. With only Brent Burns of the San Jose Sharks having more points as a defensemen.

What sticks out about Karlsson is his ATOI. He logs a lot of minutes, and he has a pretty impressive Plus/Minus, considering the type of player he is. He is definitely an offensive player, and there are better two-way defenders out there. However, as a offensive dynamo, there is probably no one better than Karlsson. He is a true natural scorer, and at 26 years old there is still plenty of hockey left in him. The two time Norris Trophy win, might not win the hardware this season, but if the Senators continue to progress, he might just have something better.... A Stanley Cup ring!
