Hooray for Huberdeau

I am not going to lie, Jonathan Huberdeau is one of my favourite NHL players. I just think he has leadership of a Jonathan Toews with the flair of a Pavel Datsyuk. So when he went down to injury before the 2016-17 season officially started, I knew the Panthers would be in trouble. (and they were) The Panthers were playing .500 hockey for pretty much all season, right up until Huberdeau came back.

Since Huberdeau has returned to the lineup the Panthers have 7 wins and 4 losses. Also Huberdeau has had 4 goals and 7 assists during that time. He has also given the Panthers a legitimate 1st line in Jagr/Huberdeau/Barkov, as well as generating a more complete lineup. The Panthers now have 3 lines that can score. A huge boost to their depth chart, and a shot in the arm for the playoff chances.

The Panthers currently sit 1 point out of the wild card position, so if they can go on a run in the final 20 games, they can still into the playoffs, and cause alot of trouble. Quite the change from a team that started the season off so terribly, and where on a downward spiral.
