Welcome to another 2016-17 Rookie Spotlight, where I will be looking at rookies making their NHL debut during the 2016-17 season. (or who are still considered rookies for the 2016-17 season) Today we take a look at Ryan Hartman, from the Chicago Blackhawks.
Name: Ryan Hartman
Age: 22
Size: 6ft0 181 lbs
Hometown: Hilton Head, South Carolina USA
Jersey #: 38
Drafted: 1st Round 30th Overall in 2013 draft by the Chicago Blackhawks
Position: Right Wing
Junior Team: Plymouth Whalers (OHL)
2016-17 stats: GP 45 G 10 A 10 Pts 20
Comparable NHL players: Mike Richards, Ryan Callahan, Dino Ciccarelli
Ryan Hartman is quietly putting together a solid first NHL season. He is a workhorse, and a feisty forward who is probably best suited for a 3rd line role. However, that doesn't mean he can't be successful. His determination and work ethic fits in well with the Hawks. He could easily develop into another Andrew Ladd. He is currently average 12:21 minutes per game, but he has already 3 game winning goals. He doesn't shy away from physical contact, and you know that he is going to come to play day in and day out.
The kid also has talent! Just look at these moves that he pulled off:
Also Ryan Hartman had a Natural hat trick against the Nashville Predators on 1/8/2017
As far as rookie card go, he has alot of 2015-16 Rookies to choose from. My personal choice would be his 2015-16 Ultimate Rookie Auto /299

A hard signed autograph, which you can find on e-bay for under $20. A real steal in my mind.
Ryan Hartman is not flashy, but he is effective, and is a player that could have a long future with the Blackhawks.
