Welcome to another blog article, where I will be featuring Hockey Heroes of the Past. For now, I will be focusing on player who played between 1900-1970. Why that time period? Well, it is important to remember these pioneer's, that paved the way for current NHL superstars. Without these legends, who knows where our game would be. So I find it is essential that these Hockey Heroes get the recognition they deserve. Today we look at Frank Nighbor.

Frank Nighbor has many nicknames, and that was due to the creative genius that. Touted as a "an effortless skater" and a "marvel of physical endurance", he is one of the NHL's first superstars. His famous poke check drove opponents crazy, and when he retired, he was the NHL's leader in assists.
He was the first ever recipient of the Hart and Lady Byng trophies. A true legacy and statement of what a complete player he was. He was a true legend of time, and regards as one of the best players of that era.
