Welcome to another 2016-17 Rookie Spotlight, where I will be looking at rookies making their NHL debut during the 2016-17 season. Today we look at Sebastian Aho, from the Carolina Hurricanes.

Age: 19

Size: 5ft11 172 lbs

Hometown: Rauma, Finland

Jersey #: 44

Drafted: 2nd Round 35th Overall in 2015 draft by the Carolina Hurricanes

Position: Right Wing

Junior Team: Karpat (SM-Iiiga)

2016-17 stats: GP 38 G 8 A 13 Pts 21

Comparable NHL players: Carl Hagelin

Sebastian Aho is having a solid rookie season with the Carolina Hurricanes. He is 3rd on the team in points, and is averaging around 16 minutes of ice time per game. The Finnish kid broke out at the world juniors, centering a line with 2016 draft phenoms Jesse Puljujarvi and Patrik Laine. Yet he has kind of flown under the radar this year. He has drawn praise from Teemu Selanne, stating that Aho is actually a better player than Laine and Puljujarvi. Wow!

One thing that Aho has an abundance of is speed. He is very similar to Hagelin in that aspect, although I think he is a more complete player than Hagelin.

Plus he has some nifty moves. Check it out!

As far as collecting hockey cards, Aho is a great player to invest in. He plays for a mediocre market team, and is flying under the radar due to Auston Matthews and Patrick Laine getting all the attention. So if you are look for a good 2016-17 Rookie to collect, Aho would be my choice. Especially with the cool name. Ahoooooooooo!!!

All jokes assigned, Aho is an incredibly talented player, and some one to watch for.
