It is time once again for another "Weekly Warrior". This week we look at the All Star forward from the Philadelphia Flyers, Jakub Voracek. Let's look at his stats so far this season.
GP = 34
G = 11
A = 23
Pts = 34
Plus/minus = -5
ATOI: 19:52
Voracek, much like the rest of the Flyers, had a slow start to the season. However, in his last 6 games, he has 10 points. Along side Claude Giroux they continue to produce a formidable duo. The one thing that has always plagued Voracek, is his consistency. There are time were it looks like he could lead the league in scoring, and there are other times were he looks like a bottom 9 forward. One thing is sure, is that he looks to have rebounded from an off season last year. (Where he only scored 55 points) Don't get me wrong, 55 points is decent in today's NHL, but the previous season to that, he had 81 points.
One thing that you might not know about Voracek, is that he shares a record with Mario Lemieux, with most points in an All-Star Game. (6 points during the 2015 All-Star Game) The talent is there, it always has been. If he can just stay consistent, he could be a dominate force in this league. This is his 9th NHL season, and he is only 27 years old. So there is plenty of gas in the tank still. These are his "prime" years, so we will where Voracek goes from here. Currently, he is one of the big factors that have helped the Flyers turn their season around. It will be interesting to see if that success continues on for the duration of the season.
***NOTE***: if you are looking to pick up a good Voracek RC, for cheap, I would suggest his 2008-09 SPX RC /999

For $20-30 you get an auto/jersey Rookie Card, that is well worth the price.
