Well, it is important to remember these pioneer's, that paved the way for current NHL superstars. Without these legends, who knows where our game would be. So I find it is essential that these Hockey Heroes get the recognition they deserve. Today we look at the legendary Cy Denneny.

Holy Toledo! Look at the amount of goals per game. (0.76) That would make Cy Denneny one of the first true NHL snipers. Those PIM totals are high too, so he was a rough n tough type of player. He also won 4 Stanley Cups in 7 years with the Ottawa Senators. His brother Corbettt Denneny, also had a successful NHL career scoring 99 goals in 177 games.
Here are a few interesting facts about Cy Denneny:

-Following his playing days, he worked briefly as an NHL official as well as head coach of the cash strapped Senators for two years compiling a 37-40-15 record in 92 games with Ottawa and Boston
-He was one of the first known players to use opposing defencemen as screens.
