It's time once again to go back in time, and revisit the 2007 NHL draft! I will highlight my top 5 steals, and top 5 busts of the draft from that year.

First off, my top 5 steals

Drafted 5th Round 141st overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins

Position: Defense

- An extremely underrated d-man who can log big time minutes, as well as putting up 40+ points a season. A free agent signing too! I am sure the Penguins could use him now.

Drafted 2nd Round 61st overall by the Los Angeles Kings

Position: Forward

-A feisty forward who can be a physical threat, and score 30+ goals a season. He already has 10 goals this season, and was a 2nd round steal by the Kings, who then shipped him off to the Flyers for the Mike Richards trade. One of the better trades by the Flyers.

Drafted 2nd Round 43rd overall by the Montreal Canadiens

Position: Defense

P.K was the 17th defenseman picked in the draft. He is by far and away the best defenseman from that draft, and is arguably one of best in league. Love him or hate, he is unique, and there is no one else in the league like him. I still believe the Habs made a BIG mistake trading this stud.

Drafted: 6th Round 168th overall by the New York Rangers

Position: Forward

- A six round steal!! A speedster who can put up 20+ goals a season, a game breaker! He might never score more than 60 points in a season, but he is still talented. He was a vital part of the Pens Stanley Cup winning team last year. (6 goals and 16 points during the post season)

And now for numero uno

Drafted 5th round 129th overall by the Dallas Stars

Position: Forward

-The quintessential power forward of the NHL. Easily in the top 5 players currently playing in the league. Led the league in points 2 years ago, and is a 40+ goal man. The fact that he was drafted in the 5th round, shows how many teams missed the boat on this one. Many of the GM's must be shaking their head at not drafting him. Every team wants a player like this on their team.

And now for the top 5 busts

Drafted 1st Round 15th overall by the Edmonton Oilers

Position: Defense

-Played a total of 10 game over 3 seasons, before retiring in 2015.

Drafted 1st Round 25th overall by the Vancouver Canucks

Positoin: Forward

-Didn't play a single NHL game. Has floated around the KHL, slovak, Austria, Swe-1 and France leagues. Currently playing for "Les Ducs de Dijon"! Sacre blue ;-)

Drafted 1st Round 19th overall by the Anaheim Ducks

Position: Forward

-Talented player, who never panned out. Played a whopping 0 games in the NHL, and is currently playing in Europe.

Drafted 1st Round 20th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins

Position: Forward

-Over-hyped forward, who never could live up the expectations upon him. Injury prone, and was last seen playing in the Italian league.

And now, for the biggest bust of the 2007 draft....

Drafted 1st Round 8th overall by the Boston Bruins.

Position: Forward

-20 games 4 assists for another over-hyped forward. If you were buying Hockey cards from the 2010-11 season, you surely were "Hamilled" many times over. Absolute bust, who is currently playing for the Iserlohn Roosters... Cockadoodle doo, no NHL career for you..
