Welcome to my first "Weekly Warrior" article, a player who I will spotlight that has been an iron horse for their team. Someone who has taken the bulls by the horn, and led his team into battle! Ok, getting a little out of context, but you get the picture. This week's weekly warrior is Cam Fowler.

Cam Fowler is now in his 7th year in the NHL.(look at that nice prime number) It has been a tough go for him at times, during his career. He had a stellar rookie season, (40 points in 76 games) but then suffered the sophomore blues that dragged on for many years. He was always a big minutes man (averaging 22:27 TOI per year), but has been a defensive liability (-46 over his career) It just seemed that Fowler could never live up to the standards that people had for him. He was supposed to the next Scott Niedermayer.

Well this tough warrior finally seems to have taking the reigns and is ready to become the all-star defenseman that showed signs of, during his early career. Looks these stats through 9 games

3 goals

4 assists

7 points

+/- 0

23:00 ATOI (Average time on Ice)

9 BLK

and decent iCorsi and iFenwick numbers:

44 iCorsi

23 iFenwick

What are iCorsi and iFenwick?

iFenwick = Individual Fenwick = Shots on Goal + Shots directed at net that missed net iCorsi = Individual Corsi = iFenwick + Shots directed at net that were blocked

This is a critical season for. He has a lot to prove, and to show the Ducks that they can count on him in those big game moments. So far, he has done just that. That is why he is my first recipient of the "Weekly Warrior" award. Keep up the good work Mr.Fowler.
