You know that box of chocolates that you get for Christmas? The one that have a plethora of choices to choose from. You have your classics, the sure "winners", and then you have the ones you are not sure of. The one's that you are not sure about, but take a risk,, and find out you have found a hidden sweet delight? Well that is what is would be like to find Victor Rask.

Rask is the type of player that you might pass on in your hockey pools, especially since he play's in Carolina. However if you look closely, you will see a big strong forward (6ft2 200 lbs), who is hard working, and can put up 40-50 points a season easily. He has become the Canes top center and is off to a superb start to the season. (7pts in 6 games) With Jeff Skinner injured, he has being looked on to take a bigger role, and he has come through, so far.

The best part, especially if you are Canes fan, is that Rask signed a 6 year extension during the summer. At 4 million per year, he is a cost effective forward, who can put up a lot of points. He is average 18:10 minutes per game, so he see's a lot of a ice time. When Jeff Skinner get's back from injury, it should be interesting to see if Rask's production will increase even more.

Oh and if you are wondering, there is no relation between Victor Rask and Tuukka Rask. However, Victor has a sister (Fanny Rask) a couple cousins (Kasper and Simon Emanuelsson) who play hockey. As well his uncle (Peter Emanuelsson) was a coach of a Division 2 Swedish hockey team during the 2012-13 season. So hockey runs through his family.

So if you are one of those who took Victor in your hockey pool, enjoy that sweet swedish delight.
